You're on a roof. The phone rings. That job just called your competitor.

Meet Lantra, the AI receptionist from Call Lantern. Lantra answers the calls you can't, books the estimate, follows up your quotes, and texts you a summary every evening. Built for contractors and home-service companies across the US (roofing, solar, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, remodel, general contracting, landscaping, pest control and more), set to your local time zone.

What Lantra does for you

1. Overflow and after-hours calls

When you don't pick up by the 4th ring, or after 5 pm, Lantra answers in your company's name, gets the details, and sorts real jobs from spam.

2. Estimate booking

Lantra books site visits into the open slots on your calendar. It never quotes a price or promises a date you didn't set.

3. Quote follow-up

A friendly text or call at day 2 and day 7 on quotes you sent, so jobs you bid don't go cold.

4. Daily owner summary

One text and email each evening, like "Lantra booked 3 estimates last night": who called, what they need, what's booked, and who's waiting on a callback.

Every call gets an instant recap text and email, and anything possibly urgent calls and texts you right away. For gas, fire or anyone hurt, Lantra tells the caller to get safe and call 911 or the gas company first. If a caller wants a human or Lantra gets stuck, the call goes to you.

Free 14-day after-hours pilot

Fill out one form and we set Lantra up for you. It runs on your after-hours and overflow calls only. Your number stays the same. After 14 days you get a report: calls caught, estimates booked, and estimated revenue. If it didn't pay for itself, walk away and owe nothing.

Pay for what you use

No plans to pick. Each month you're billed at the tier your actual Lantra call minutes landed in. You never pay for calls you didn't get.

What's included

Call answering, booking, quote follow-up, a recap of every call, urgent alerts, daily summary, and a monthly tune-up report you can reply to with changes.

Who builds it

Call Lantern is run by Steven Young, a construction professional with 15 years in the civil and electrical field. He leads teams across North America. He built this service because contractors lose real jobs to unanswered calls, and the fix should be simple to set up and easy to control.

FAQ

Will customers know it's AI?

If they ask, Lantra tells them. Most callers just want a real answer and an appointment.

What if Lantra gets stuck?

It doesn't guess. It says it will have the owner call right back, takes the details, and texts you right away. Callers who ask for a person get transferred or flagged for a callback.

Will it quote my prices?

No. It books the estimate. It only shares numbers you've approved, like a trip charge.

Do I need a new phone number?

No. Your carrier forwards unanswered and after-hours calls to Lantra.

What does the pilot cost?

Nothing, and no card is needed. On day 14 you get a scorecard (calls caught, estimates booked, estimated value) and a payment link, plus which price tier you would have paid based on your pilot minutes. If you don't continue, it switches off.

What if my call volume changes month to month?

That's expected. You're billed at the tier your actual usage fits each month, so slow months cost less and busy months move up automatically. Every invoice shows your minutes and calls.

Do I have to get on a sales call?

No. Call the demo line, fill out the form, and handle everything else by email or text.

How do I make changes?

Reply to any summary email or text with what to change, like new hours or a service you stopped offering. It's updated within 1 business day.

Is Lantra an emergency line?

No. Lantra is not an emergency service and doesn't replace 911. For gas smells, fire, smoke or anyone hurt, she tells the caller to get to safety and call 911 or the gas company first, then alerts you right away. You get a recap of every call and decide what needs a response.

Do you work with solar companies?

Yes. Lantra handles solar sales and service calls, including urgent ones like inverter or battery alarms and storm damage to panels. We also work with general contractors, concrete, landscaping, pest control, garage doors, painting and other field-service businesses.

Call Lantra right now

Don't take our word for it. Call the demo line and pretend you're a homeowner with a leak, a dead furnace, or a remodel question. Lantra answers as a sample contractor, books a fake estimate, and texts you the kind of summary you'd get.

How Lantra sounds

Lantra always opens with "Thanks for calling [business], this is Lantra, the virtual assistant. This call may be recorded and transcribed so the team can follow up." That part can't be changed; this replaces only what she says next.

Which calls should Lantra flag for you right away?

✉️ You get a recap of every call by text and email: who called, their number, what they need, and a recording link. Flagged calls also call and text you right away. Lantra never decides a call isn't important. If she's not sure, she flags it.

Safety calls (always on): If a caller mentions a gas smell, fire, someone hurt, or similar, Lantra tells them to call 911 or the utility first and flags it for you. She gives no safety or technical advice. This can't be turned off.
